After completing his Company Secretary and Accounting exams, John (Jack) McParland gained membership to the Australian Society of Accountants and The Australian Institute of Chartered Secretaries. Jack was approached by his Glebe Hockey team-mates, David Robertson, Harry Butler and Ken Roberts to join the company . On 5th February 1955 Jack was appointed to the position of Accountant and Company Secretary of Robertson and Lansley Pty Limited. Jack was instrumental in organizing the successful amalgamation of the businesses, Moulded Plastics and Precision Pressing Components into the Company known today as Roblan Pty Limited. Jack was the General Manager and Finance Director of Roblan Pty Limited until his retirement on 15th July 1988.
